How to Prevent Your Nose From Getting Burned
Sun exposure can be dangerous, especially in the summer when it is at its strongest. The sun omits ultraviolet rays that can damage the skin and cause sunburn. Sunburn can lead to certain types of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma that is common to the face, ears and nose, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Even the most cautious people often forget about their noses when applying sunscreen. Overexposure to the sun can also cause the face and nose to age prematurely. Preventing your nose from burning in the sun is an absolute necessity that benefits your health and appearance.Things You'll Need

1
Apply sunscreen liberally all over your face 30 minutes before sun exposure, paying particular attention to your nose. Choose a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. Increase the SPF of your sunscreen if you have light skin and eyes and are prone to sunburn. Reapply every three to four hours, increasing the application time if swimming or sweating makes your face wet.

2
Apply an ointment containing zinc oxide to your nose. Zinc oxide offers a physical barrier from the sun, blocking all rays from reaching the nose.
-
3
Wear a wide-brimmed hat that casts a shadow over your nose when out in the sun. Stay in the shade as much as possible, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the hottest part of the day.
