What indicates the burn is superficial?

Superficial burns involve only the outermost layer (epidermis) of the skin. In these burns:

- The skin is red and dry.

- Swelling and blistering may also be present.

- The burn is painful.

- Sensation is present.

- Capillary refill is normal.
