Can oil pulling be done in the evening?
Oil pulling is a traditional Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth for a period of time, typically between 10 and 20 minutes. Traditionally, it is recommended that oil pulling be performed in the morning on an empty stomach. However, there is some evidence to suggest that oil pulling may be equally effective when done in the evening. One study found that oil pulling with sesame oil for 10 minutes in the evening was as effective in reducing plaque and gingivitis as oil pulling for the same duration in the morning. Another study found that oil pulling with coconut oil for 15 minutes in the evening was effective in reducing oral bacteria and improving gum health. Additionally, some people find that oil pulling in the evening helps to improve their sleep quality. Ultimately, the best time to perform oil pulling is a matter of personal preference. If you find that oil pulling in the evening is beneficial for you, there is no reason why you should not continue doing it.Burns - Related Articles
