Diet for Healing Burnt Skin
-
Foods to Eat
-
In addition to the regular foods you eat, include the following protein-rich foods into your diet: yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, cream soaps, eggs, meat, chicken, ice cream, beans and fish. Eat one or more of the protein-rich foods with each meal daily. If you are watching your weight, eliminate junk food and sugary snacks and eat one or more of the protein-rich foods.
Daily Food Break Down
-
Also as part of your daily diet, eat one or more bowls of granola or fruit/nut mix cereals and a slice of fortified bread for your breakfast. For lunch, top your rice or pasta with a cheese or cream sauce. Instead of using butter on bread or on vegetables, use margarine or grated cheese to add flavor. For dinner, eat chicken, beef, pork, turkey or a portion of salmon/other fish. For sides, prepare a bowl of peas or lentils. For soups, select soups that are made with whole milk.
Make sure you eat plenty of dried fruits and nuts. Soy-based products can also be consumed. For milk snacks and foods, include milk-based puddings, shakes, custards and other high-calorie snacks in your diet.
For a after dinner snack, eat a few peanut butter snack crackers or a large bowl of your favorite ice cream.
Tips
-
Eat three meals a day and don't skip breakfast. When you are wanting a snack, make sure it is one that is high in protein. Avoid empty or low calorie snacks and limit your intake of diet foods and drinks. Also, drink water instead of soft drinks with your meals. You can also take a multi-vitamin supplement to aid in helping your burnt skin to heal. Make sure the multi-vitamin contains vitamin C, B complex, glutamine, arginine, zinc, copper and selenium.
