Aloe Vera Treatment for Burns

Aloe vera gel is derived from the aloe plant. Used in nearly every country and marketed commercial in most regions, aloe and aloe vera are used primarily to treat burns and infections, though there other health and cosmetic benefits as well.
  1. Using The Aloe Plant

    • The stalks of the aloe plant can be broken or sliced, resulting in the excretion of a clear, oozy substance. This can be placed directly on burns to ease the pain and heal the damaged skin.

    Aloe Vera

    • Aloe vera gel is processed aloe. This is every bit as effective as using the raw plant but is more readily available in most parts of the world.

    Sunburns

    • One of the most common uses for aloe or aloe vera gel is in the treatment of sunburns. Simply massage it into the damaged skin and you'll feel a relieving, cooling sensation almost immediately.

    Superficial Burns

    • Other burns can also be treated with aloe. Burns caused from stove tops, fireplaces, lighters, and matches can all be relieved with aloe, but medical attention is recommended for major burns.

    Blisters

    • Blisters can be treated with aloe whether they are caused by a burn or not. Covering blisters in aloe or aloe vera gel can also help reduce the risk of infection.
