Natural Home Remedy for Removing Scars From Burns on the Skin
Burns, no matter how slight or severe, often leave scars behind. Some scars are so big and so deep that plastic surgery is necessary to remove them. For most, however, you can gradually fade a scar by using products from your home and kitchen.-
Preventing Future Scars
-
Although you may already have a scar, it is important to know how to prevent scars from forming in the future. If your skin is ever burned, hold the burned area under a cold, running faucet for 10 to 15 minutes. As the wound heals, rub vitamin E and aloe vera on it. This will significantly reduce any scarring that forms.
Almond Oil
-
For scars that have already formed as a result of a burn, use almond oil. By rubbing the almond oil into the scar, you are lightening the color of the scar, which is typically dark and noticeable. Over time, you will see that color has faded and no longer stands out so much.
Lemon Juice
-
Take freshly squeezed lemon juice and rub it into the area of the skin where the burn scar is located. The acidic properties of the lemon work to exfoliate the skin. This is a much more gentle version of a chemical peel, but the ideal outcome is the same. By removing outer layers of the skin, the lemon juice is fading the scar, making it much less noticeable.
Tomato Pulp
-
Remove the pulp from a tomato and rub it onto your burn scar. The pulp works as a bleach to lighten the scar. Use the tomato pulp on your scar twice a day for the best results.
