How to Treat a Facial Burn From a Curling Iron to Prevent Scars
Facial burns are a common problem for people who regularly use curling irons. When curling the hair around your hairline, it is almost inevitable that a slight burn will eventually occur. The natural reaction to hot metal touching the skin is to instantly pull the heat source away. Because of this, burns from a curling iron are rarely worse than second degree. With the proper care, even a second-degree burn can be healed without scarring.Things You'll Need

1
Submerge your head in cold water for 20 minutes. The easiest way to do this is to plug a sink and fill it with water.
-
2
Let the burned area air-dry. Do not use a towel as it could irritate the burn.
-
3
Wash the burned area with mild soap and water twice a day. Rinse all of the soap off to prevent the skin from dehydrating.
-
4
Apply burn cream after washing the burn. There are many burn creams available over the counter, but you can also visit a doctor for a prescription cream. Cover the burn with a bandage each time you apply cream to it.

5
Let the blister pop on its own if one should happen to form. Popping the blister before it's ready will increase the chances of a scar forming. Carefully cut away the skin from a popped blister.
