How to Treat Hand Burns
Things You'll Need
- Burn cream or moisturizer Gauze Medical tape Acetaminophen (such as Tylenol)

Look at your burn, if it is red, painful and swollen but not blistered or black, you can treat it at home.

Place your hand under cold running water for 15 minutes until you do not feel a burning sensation. You can also put your hand into a bowl of cold water for 15 minutes.

Pat the burn dry. Spread a thin amount burn cream or moisturizer onto the burn to prevent the skin from drying out.

Place a piece of gauze loosely over the burn and attach it with medical tape. Change the gauze daily and whenever it gets wet.

Take acetaminophen to control the pain.
