How to Use Acticoat
Things You'll Need
- Acticoat dressing Isopropyl alcohol Scissors Sterile water Gauze

Remove Acticoat dressing from wrapper.

Sterilize a pair of scissors with isopropyl alcohol. Let the scissors air dry.

Cut the dressing to the size of the wound using sterilized scissors.

Moisten Acticoat with sterile (not saline) water. Wring out excess water.

Place dressing on top of the wound.

Wrap a sterile piece of gauze loosely over the wound to secure the Acticoat dressing in place.

Unwrap the gauze dressing and lightly spray the Acticoat dressing with sterile (not saline) water every 12 hours or as directed by a physician. If the dressing is sticking to the wound by itself, it does not need to be recovered with the gauze dressing. If the Acticoat is not adhering to the wound, replace the gauze dressing.
