How to Use Aloe Vera as an Herbal Remedy

The healing powers and health benefits of Aloe Vera are well known throughout the world. The medicinal uses of aloe vera gel primarily center around its ability to treat skin ailments, minor burns, sun burn, poison ivy and nettle stings
It is a good moisturizer for the skin. Aloe Vera is a gentle remedy and can be used on all skin types and is even suitable for children. Read on to learn how to prepare aloe vera an herbal remedy.

      Obtain a fresh aloe vera leaf. Wash it and slice off the spikes. Fillet the leaf by slicing it lengthwise to reveal the inner pulp. Rub the exposed interior directly onto the affected area.

      Prepare aloe vera gel from a fresh leaf of the aloe vera plant. (See Resources below for instructions). Apply some of the aloe vera gel to the affected area such as a wound or minor burn. Repeat 3 to 5 times a day.

      Smooth some aloe vera gel to some gauze and place it over the affected area. Apply a fresh treatment three times a day.

      Make an herbal eye wash by stirring ½ teaspoon aloe vera juice and 1/2 teaspoon of Boric Acid into one cup of water. This is a great way to flush and cleanse your eyes to relieve irritation.
