Interactive Cardiac Education

According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a contributing factor in one-third of deaths globally. Many hospitals and other health organizations are now offering interactive cardiac education to show people how they can reduce their chances of CVD.
  1. Classes

    • Hospitals like the Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, Texas, offer classes for the general population that offer information on what CVD is, warning signs and how to reduce your chances of falling victim to it. They are taught by health-care professionals who can answer your specific questions about CVD.

    Diet and Exercise

    • Two of the most important lessons that are taught in an interactive cardiac educational class are what diet is best for your heart and the type and amount of exercise you should be engaging in. This includes learning about having a low-cholesterol and low-fat diet and basic exercises to keep your heart healthy.

    Online Education

    • The U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health have teamed up to create MedlinePlus, an interactive online health education tool. One component of this tool is for cardiac rehabilitation and allows users to learn more about their own health and answers questions they might have about it.
