Prevent varicose veins with exercise on a regular basis to keep the circulatory system healthy. Maintain a healthy weight so the circulatory system does not have to work overtime.

Sit straight and rotate ankles often. Crossing legs prohibits upward blood flow which is the cause of varicose veins.

Do not sit for long periods of time. Move around every hour or wear compression hose to assist in pumping blood to the heart.

Alter your wardrobe. Wear clothes that do not constrict the waist and legs and invest in low heels that fit feet properly.

Do not smoke. High blood pressure is associated with varicose veins, and cigarettes raise blood pressure.
