What to do if you SWALLOW a lead bb pellet?
Seek immediate medical attention if you or someone you know has swallowed a lead bb pellet. Lead is toxic and can cause serious health problems, including lead poisoning.
Here is what to do if you swallow a lead bb pellet:
1. Call the nearest poison control center. Provide them with the following information:
* The patient's age and weight
* The time the lead bb pellet was swallowed
* The type of lead bb pellet (if known)
* Any symptoms the patient is experiencing
2. Follow the instructions provided by the poison control center. They may recommend:
* inducing vomiting
* taking activated charcoal
* drinking fluids to dilute the lead
* avoiding milk, alcohol, and caffeine
3. Go to the nearest hospital or emergency room if directed to do so by the poison control center. You may be admitted to the hospital for observation and treatment.
4. Follow up with your doctor as directed. You may need to have blood tests to monitor your lead levels.
Lead poisoning is a serious medical condition, but it can be treated if it is caught early. If you think you may have swallowed a lead bb pellet, do not delay seeking medical attention.
