Can you treat lice with mouthwash?
Mouthwash is not an effective treatment for lice. Lice are small, wingless insects that live on the human head and feed on blood. They can cause itching and irritation, and can spread from person to person through head-to-head contact or by sharing combs, brushes, or hats.
There are a number of effective treatments for lice, including over-the-counter and prescription medications. Mouthwash does not contain any of the active ingredients that are effective in killing lice, so it is not an effective treatment for this condition.
If you think you or your child may have lice, it is important to see a doctor or nurse to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. Do not use mouthwash to treat lice, as it will not be effective and could potentially cause further irritation to the scalp.
