1
Develop good sleep habits. Getting enough rest is critical to reduce fatigue. Limit drinking caffeinated beverages several hours before bedtime. Keep your bedroom dark and cool which makes it easier to sleep. Go to bed at the same time every night.
-
2
Go for a massage. It can help reduce pain and muscle stiffness which some people with chronic fatigue syndrome suffer from. Getting regular massages may also reduce stress and anxiety which often occur with chronic illnesses.
-
3
Do light exercise. Stamina, strength and flexibility may all be improved with exercise. This may help reduce fatigue. It's important to pace yourself and start slowly.
-
4
Take medication to reduce pain. Many people with chronic fatigue syndrome suffer from headaches, muscle and joint pain. Taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications can reduce pain. Allergy symptoms are present for some people with chronic fatigue. Antihistamines may help.
-
5
Seek counseling. Suffering from chronic fatigue may lead to depression, anger and feelings of isolation. A counselor may provide you with suggestions and ways to cope with your feelings. Talking over your feelings with a counselor or in a support group may also relieve negative emotions.
-
6
Get acupressure. Some studies suggest it reduces fatigue. It may also help with pain and stress.
