How to Make Saline Solution for Nasal Spray

Making your own saline solution for nasal spray is simple and fast, so you can be on your way toward a clear and healthy nasal passage in no time.

  • 8 oz. distilled water
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. non-iodized sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Manuka honey (optional)

Instructions

      Bring the water to a soft boil in a small saucepan. This will make it easier for you to mix other ingredients into it, as well as get rid of any impurities that may have come in contact with the water.

      Add the baking soda, non-iodized sea salt and Manuka honey. Stir until all the ingredients are completely dissolved into the water. The Manuka honey is not mandatory in making your nasal spray, but it can be beneficial due to it's antibacterial properties.

      Turn off the heat and allow the solution to cool completely.

      Pour the solution into a clean container with a lid. Store your nasal spray solution in the refrigerator when you are not using it.
