Can you catch a cold from drinking after someone with cold?

The common cold is mainly spread through droplets of mucus and saliva. These droplets can be spread when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.

The virus can also be spread by touching surfaces that have been contaminated by these droplets. While sharing a cup or silverware might allow the virus to enter into the mouth of a healthy individual, but it is unlikely that the virus will survive or remain viable on the surface to get inside the drinker’s body for long.

Therefore, the chances of catching a cold by drinking after someone with a cold are incredibly low.
