If you have a cold and swim does it get worse?
There is some evidence to suggest that swimming while having a cold does not make it worse, and may actually help to improve symptom relief. One study found that swimming in warm water (33°C) for 30 minutes reduced the severity of cold symptoms, including nasal congestion, sore throat, and cough, as well as improving mood. However, it is important to note that if you have a fever or any other serious cold symptoms, it is best to avoid swimming and to consult a doctor.
