Are cold sores only found outside of the mouth?

Cold sores, also known as fever blisters, are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) and can appear on or around the mouth. They can also occur inside the mouth, on the tongue, gums, or palate, and are referred to as intraoral herpes.
