1
Clean areas that may harbor Serratia Marcescens. This bacteria is usually observed as a pink ring around and inside toilets, bathtubs and exhaust vents.
-
2
Apply a hot compress to your face for three minutes followed by a cold compress for 30 seconds, six times a day around the orbital area and over the nasal bridge to alleviate the pain and to get the congested sinus cavities to drain.
-
3
Spray oxymetazoline in each nostril once a day for no more than three days. You'll find this chemical name on the back of many over the counter decongestants. These work to relieve sinus pressure by dilating nasal and sinus passages to allow drainage of trapped mucus.

4
Drink plenty of fluids to liquefy secretions and to reduce fever.
