How to Use Nasal Spray in Squeeze Bottle
There are some medications your physician may prescribe that could come in a nasal spray bottle. One of the more common examples is nasal decongestants to help relieve a stuffy nose. Another is a saline spray to help moisten your nasal cavity if you are experiencing nose bleeds from dryness in your nose. These are very effective, however, can be ineffective if used improperly.Things You'll Need

How to Use Nasal Spray in Squeeze Bottle
-
1
Blow your nose with the tissues to clear your nose of any mucus or dirt. If your nose is plugged up and blocked from mucus then the medication will not be as effective as it could be.
-
2
Shake the nasal spray bottle, then remove the cover. Prime it by gently squeezing it a few times between your thumb and index finger. Squeeze it a few times until it produces a fine mist.
-
3
Tilt your head slightly, so that your eyes are looking straight toward the floor. This will ensure that the spray can travel directly into your nasal passage.
-
4
Push down one of your nostrils with the index finger of one hand. Put enough pressure on it so that no air is coming in or out of that nostril. Grab the nasal spray bottle with the thumb and index finger on your other hand and insert the tip of the nasal spray into the open nostril.
-
5
Breathe gently in and out. While breathing in, squeeze the nasal spray bottle to emit on full spray. Following your physician's instruction, spray each nostril as many times as he or she instructs you to.
-
6
Switch hands and hold the nasal spray bottle in the opposite hand's thumb and index finger. Cover the opposite nostril with your other hands index finger and repeat steps four and five as needed. As your nasal cavity is connected to your throat you need to try your best not to swallow any of the medication.
-
7
Wipe off any excess spray that may have come out of your nose, but do not blow your nose immediately after spraying. Clean off the nasal spray bottle with a clean tissue, replace the cover and store in a cool area.
