Profen Forte DM Side Effects

Profen Forte DM is a cough suppressant used to treat congestion of the chest and throat, which in turn makes it easier to cough through your mouth. The medication works by signaling the brain and triggering the cough reflex. As with most cough medications, there are a number of side effects associated with using this drug.

Common Side Effects

• As mentioned, there are certain side effects associated with using this medication. Some of these side effects include headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, rash and upset stomach. While these are the most common side effects associated with using Profen Forte DM, they only affect a small number of users.

Severe Side Effects

• Unfortunately, there are also a number of severe side effects associated with using this medication. Some of these side effects include anxiety, severe dizziness, nervousness, restlessness, hallucinations, confusion, slow breathing and irregular heartbeat. These side effects are also very rare and do not affect a large number of users.

Important Safety Information

• Profen Forte DM has been known to cause increased dizziness and drowsiness in users and it is recommended that users do not operate any type of machinery (including automobiles) while using this medication. Always consult with a medical professional before administering a cough medication to a child as it can cause adverse side effects. Usage

• Always use Profen Forte DM in direct conjunction with your doctor's orders and never in dosages larger that what has been recommended on the label. Try to take this medication with food as it will prevent the possibility of an upset stomach.
