1
Get plenty of rest. Although this may be the most difficult step, it is also the most important. You need to give your body a chance to rest and recuperate.
-
2
Drink fluids constantly. Warm fluids, such as hot tea or cocoa, tend to help soothe a sore throat. However, orange juice or water are also extremely good when flushing out your system.
-
3
Take extra vitamin C. Whether you drink extra glasses of orange juice or take a Vitamin C tablet daily, make sure you are taking at least the recommended dosage.

4
Use a fever reducer to get rid of headaches. Although you may not realize it, your headaches could be brought on by fever. Taking an over-the-counter fever reducer, such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen, will alleviate your headache as well as bring down the fever that caused it.

Dress warm, stay dry and relax. The worst thing to do is pretend like you feel fine. Give your body time to get back to normal before doing anything too strenuous. You will feel better faster and may even bypass the whole process the next time!
