At the same time you should not drink caffeine, because this dehydrates the body.
Humidifier

Try to use an air humidifier. The use of a humidifier helps to keep the nasal and throat passages moist and free of mucus. This is very helpful during the winter, when the air is very dry.
Chicken soup

Gargle

Gargle with a glass of water. According to old home remedies if a person gargles water three times a day, it can help prevent upper respiratory tract infections.
Vitamin C

Take some vitamin C. This is an old home remedy. According the American Lung Association vitamin C does not help someone get over a cold. But, it is still good to get the daily needed amount of vitamin C for overall health.
