Garlic Cough Remedies
There is nothing worse than a stubborn cough that just will not go away. You can try the many different medicines available to you at the pharmacy, or you can try a proven home remedy. One of the best ways to subdue a cough is with the use of garlic.-
Garlic cough syrup
-
Garlic is one nature's medical remedies. It has been long used as a treatment for things like digestive problems, kidney problems and, of course, a cough. One garlic application for a cough is to make yourself a garlic cough syrup. This is done by peeling about one-half pound of garlic. You can leave the garlic whole if you want, or you can finely chop the cloves into a paste. Either way will work fine, but chopping the garlic will release more of the garlic's healing qualities. Put the garlic into a mason jar and completely cover the garlic with honey. Put the mason jar into the refrigerator for about two weeks. After the two week period you will have garlic cough syrup. Take a tablespoon in the morning and whenever you feel the urge to cough.
Garlic Tea
-
Herbal tea is another great remedy for a cough. Add some garlic to it, and you have a super remedy. Finely chop a few sections of garlic. Add them to about two quarts of water and boil the mixture. When it is piping hot, remove from the stove and pour into your tea cup with a chamomile tea bag. Add some honey to thicken the mixture and drink slowly. This is a very powerful home remedy.
Garlic and Ginger
-
To aid in curing your cough, try chopping a few cloves of garlic along with some fresh ginger. Mix in some honey and let marinate overnight. Once the marinade is good and ready, take one tablespoon of the mixture in the morning and whenever the urge to cough is felt. Ginger will aid in the digestive help as well as the coughing.
