What is a communicable desease?

A communicable disease is an illness caused by an infectious agent that can be transmitted from one person to another through direct contact or through the air, water, or other environmental sources. Some examples of communicable diseases include the common cold, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, and tuberculosis. These diseases are typically spread through droplets of saliva or mucus from an infected person, or through contact with surfaces or objects that have been contaminated with these droplets.
