Take an impression of the ear. This is done with a rubber mold. Cut the impression and dip it into paraffin. Place the impression on a form plate which has four holders.
-
2
Prepare impression for gel cast. Smooth out the impression according to the specifications of the person wearing it. Dip impression in pink wax which will make it tighten to fit better and not fall out. Place impression back on form plate. Pour gel into form plate using a gelovit machine. Place in refrigerator for 15 minutes.

3
Take impression out of form plate. Fill the gel cast with a colored liquid (typically skin colored). Cover top of cast and place in UV light for two minutes. Pour out excess liquid and you should have a cured coating left. Pour glysol into the cast. It will create a thickness on the impression to prevent it from breaking easy. Pour excess fluid. You should have a shiny even surface on the inside of the impression. Place colored cast in UV light without covering.

Place the hearing aid on a face plate and glue it on. Wait for it to dry for 30 minutes. Detach the aid from the plate and test for fit. Cut where needed. Place a dummy electronic receiver to make sure it will fit in the aid. Smooth off the aid and sand down using an electric sander. Coat with lacquer and dry for two minutes.

Remove electronics from its packaging. Work with anti-static strap on wrist to make sure there is little or no static. Place electronic device into canal of cast. Place the aid in a 2cc coupler which will stimulate the volume inside ear canal. It will measure output. Connect aid to programming adapter which is connected to software of a computer. Make sure volume is high enough and static is at a minimum. Place battery inside aid. You can use Energizer 13.
