1
Turn to family and friends. The death of a family member can trigger tremendous grief, and it's important to not let that grief manifest inside you. Confide in friends, family members and tell them about your feelings.
-
2
Seek out a support group. These people have gone through similar things as you're facing now. They are understanding and can make you feel comfortable enough to talk about your feelings.
-
3
Keep healthy. The death of a loved one can physically change you for a time. It's important to remember that you must eat healthy foods, express your feelings and don't let stress dominate.
-
4
Plan for upsetting moments. Holidays, birthdays and other special memories associated with the passing of a loved one will often cause grief. Planning ahead for these moments allows you to prepare for the emotional rollercoaster.
-
5
Seek a therapist. Sometimes grief can be too much to handle. Schedule an appointment with a therapist if you believe grief is overwhelming your life.
