How to Show a Girl That She Is Beautiful

Young girls are hit every day with messages from media, other girls and bullies alike that they are not good enough, not beautiful enough, not smart enough. Well, enough is enough. Here are some tips on how to show and tell a girl that she is beautiful on the inside and out. These tips can be used by a parent to reinforce the beauty that you know she has or by a boy trying to build up the self esteem of the girl who he loves.

  Take out a mirror and point out three things to the girl in the mirror that are beautiful. Point to what makes her unique and indescribably precious.

  Tell her stories of how she has shown her inner beauty in the past. Remind her of instances where she showed poise, good manners, a kind heart or helped someone in need. Remind her that being beautiful is so much more than a pretty face.

  Make her list three things about herself that she is proud of, while making her stand in front of the mirror. Show the girl her smile as she says these things; her inner happiness and self esteem are beautiful and can be seen through her smile.

  Remind her that everyone is insecure about their bodies and that even supermodels do not feel beautiful all of the time. Tell her things about yourself that you feel are less than perfect. More than likely, she will dispute each item. Show her through this that we are our own worst critic.
