Warning Signs of Depression

    • One sign of depression is withdrawal from friends, family and social activities that were previously of interest.

    Cognitive Problems

    • Cognitive problems, such as difficulty with concentration, memory and decision making can be signs of depression.

    Sleep Problems

    • Sleep problems such as insomnia (an inability to sleep properly) or hypersomnia (sleeping too much) are another sign of depression.

    Emotional Problems

    • In addition to feeling down, depression can be accompanied by feelings of worthlessness, irritability and hopelessness.

    Physical Signs

    • Some physical signs of depression include weight fluctuations (excess weight gain or loss), headaches, digestive problems and back pain without other explanation.

    Suicidal Behavior
