Side Effects of Efexor XL

Efexor XL is most often prescribed for the treatment of depression. Sometimes it is also prescribed for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. A number of side effects have been reported, but that does not mean all users will experience side effects. If side effects become serious or bothersome, be sure to contact a doctor right away.
  1. Insomnia

    • Efexor XL may cause you to have trouble falling or staying asleep.

    Headache

    • Headaches may occur with the use of Efexor XL.

    Sleepiness

    • You may experience feeling more tired or more sleepy than normal.

    Sexual Problems

    • Having a lack of interest in sex or being unable to reach climax is a commonly reported side effect of all anti-depressants.

    Loss of Appetite

    • A loss of appetite may occur, including eating less or not feeling hungry, at meal times.

    Abnormal Dreams

    • Having abnormal dreams has been known to occur while taking Efexor XL.
