Wellbutrin Neurological Side Effects
-
Depression
-
Surprisingly enough, the use of Wellbutrin has been known to elicit an adverse reaction that causes a worsening in a person's depression. This depression may dip so low that a person may actually begin to contemplate or even attempt suicide.
Mood Swings
-
Another neurological side effect that has been noted generally involves the volatility in a person's mood, essentially shifting from one frame of mind to the next, sometimes quite dramatically.
Panic Attacks
-
A small number of people may also begin to suffer from panic attacks, and these don't necessarily need to be triggered by anything specific. They may begin to feel overwhelmed, frightened, flustered or even terrified.
Sleep Issues
-
Though most of the neurological side effects are rare, some people have complained of issues involving sleep. This may manifest as restlessness (moderate to severe) or insomnia, which is generally categorized as a difficulty going to sleep and/or staying asleep.
Hostility
-
Sometimes, the nervous system will be affected in such a way that a person becomes extremely hostile, irritable or angry. This doesn't necessarily need to be connected to any swings in mood, and may simply be an underlying temperament.
Abnormal Behavior
-
On occasion, Wellbutrin may also affect the nervous system in such a way that a person may begin to exhibit abnormal behavior. This will usually be seen as an impulsiveness, unpredictability, unreliability or erratic behavior.
