      Inspect your Opticlik insulin pen. Ensure that the dosage knob is completely pushed in so that you are able to insert the Cartridge System properly. Verify the cartridge label to be sure you have the right insulin. Make sure the solution in the Cartridge System is not cloudy and does not contain particles.

      Hold the Opticlik insulin pen between your thumb and forefinger with the cartridge release button facing up.

      Slide the Cartridge System all the way into the Opticlik insulin pen. You may need to rotate the Cartridge System slightly to get it all the way into the pen. Once the cartridge is properly loaded, lock and click it into place.

      Attempt to remove the Cartridge System by pulling it slightly. If the cartridge does not pull out of the insulin pen, it is properly locked into place.
