Early Diagnosis of Diabetes

An early diagnosis of diabetes can dramatically change the outcome of the disease. Early diagnosis means early treatments that may control and prevent any further diabetes complications. An early diagnosis is all about knowing what to look for as signs of diabetes.
  1. Do You Feel Tired?

    • Fatigue is one of the signs of diabetes. The low or absent supply of insulin leaves free glucose in the blood. this causes heightened muscle fatigue.

    How is Your Vision?

    • The high levels of glucose may cause changes in the fluid levels of your eyes. As a result, blurry vision and vision clarity may fluctuate from day to day.

    Increased Urination

    • The high levels of circulating glucose stimulate urination. It causes the kidneys to attempt to cleanse the body by removing the high sugar content of the blood.

    Are You Very Thirsty?

    • The high levels of sugar in the blood signal that the body needs more water to wash out the extra sugar. Thirst also occurs to replenish the water loss from increased urination.

    Did You Lose Weight?

    • A common indicator of diabetes is the fast loss of weight in a short period of time.

    Diagnosis

    • If these symptoms are further accompanied by tingling, numbness, unhealed sores or wounds, and recurring infections, then the doctor will assess all of the signs to confirm diabetes.
