How to Use an Ascensia Contour Monitor
The Ascensia Contour Monitor is a type of blood glucose monitor produced by Bayer. It features an easy-to-read screen and quick test results that are a benefit to diabetic patients who must test their blood sugar on a regular basis. Although the Ascensia is easy to use, it should not be utilized without first getting the OK from a doctor.Things You'll Need
- Lancing device
- Lancet
- Testing strip

Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Dry them completely.

Remove the cap from the lancing device and place a lancet into the holder provided.

Push the lancet down until the spring mechanism clicks.

Screw off the plastic tip of the lancet and replace the end cap.

Place the lancing device above the fingertip. Depress the trigger button.

Take a testing strip and touch the tip of the white sample end of the testing strip against the blood. Do not press the strip tightly against the blood or squeeze the finger.

Insert the gray end of the testing strip into the slot at the bottom of the testing meter. Make sure that the blood sample is facing upward.

Allow the meter to read the sample and display its reading.

After reading the display, remove the strip and discard both it and the used lancet. The monitor will turn off automatically.
