How to Use an Ascensia Contour

Instructions

    • 1

Gather supplies and thoroughly wash and dry hands.

    • 2

Insert a lancet into the gray spring-loaded lancing device on the dark blue end and push the lancet in until the device clicks.

    • 3

Twist off the plastic tip of the lancet and snap on the gray tap.

    • 4

Hold out the finger to be tested, placing the lancing device above the tip. Press the blue trigger button.

    • 5

Take a testing strip and place the very tip of the white sample end of the strip against the blood droplet. Be careful not to press the entire strip against the blood and do not squeeze the finger.

    • 6

Insert the gray electrode end of the strip into the slot at the bottom of the monitor below the Bayer insignia. Ensure that the blood sample is facing upward.

    • 7

Allow the meter to register the result undisturbed. It should take the Ascensia Contour Meter 15 seconds to finish reading the sample.

    • 8

Remove the test strip after reading the result. This will turn the meter off.
