Living with diabetes can also be emotional because of the fears associated with this condition---weaker immune system, shorter lifespan. Diabetics take longer to heal, and when the condition is not properly managed a person could lose limbs or even her eyesight.

Dealing with diabetes can be stressful for all family members. Emergency situations can arise if a diabetic begins to have an attack. The level of severity really depends on the extent of the disease.
Diet

A diabetic needs to control his sugar intake. This means that some foods will need to be avoided and other family members will also need to make diet adjustments as well. The entire family will need to conscious of what they purchase for meals.
