About Accu-Chek Advantage Meter Strips

The Accu-Chek Advantage meter is a small blood sugar meter that fits in your pocketbook or pocket. The Advantage meter is compatible with two of Accu-Chek's test strips. One test strip is easier to use than the other is, but you have two choices, making the Advantage a convenient meter with options.
  1. Types

    • Accu-Chek has two types of test strips for the Advantage meter: the Comfort Curve strips and the Advantage strips.

    Function

    • Both test strips have a capillary action for drawing in a small sample of blood when the finger is pricked.

    Comfort Curve Strips

    • The Comfort Curve strips are curved to fit against the side of the finger for easy drawing action. If the strip does not fill up accurately, you can wait 15 seconds and test again with the same strip.

    Regular Advantage Strips

    • The regular Advantage strips are similar in design to most test strips. Place the strip to the sample of blood and wait for the strip to fill up.

    Effects

    • The Comfort Curve strips require less blood and are considered easier to use, according to the Accu-Chek website.
