Diabetes Type 2 Warning Signs

Diabetes type 2 is a chronic disease that usually occurs in adults over 40 years old. Ninety to 95 percent of diabetes is type 2. It may be present long before a doctor diagnoses it because the patient does not recognize the signs, or signs may not be apparent. Diabetes type 2 warning signs are common signs that you may think are due to other conditions.
  1. Fatigue

    • One of the common signs of type 2 diabetes is fatigue. This tired feeling can come on suddenly in the middle of the day, even if the patient had a good night's sleep.

    Thirst

    • Sugar in the bloodstream will cause excessive thirst. You can drink a glass of water and still feel thirsty.

    Urination

    • Because you are drinking excessive water or liquids, urination is frequent. You may need to visit the bathroom every hour or two.

    Infections

    • Yeast infections are a common sign of diabetes in women. Infections do not clear up without antibiotics.

    Extremities

    • You may feel numbness or tingling in your feet or hands. Some people feel a burning or itching in their feet.
