How to Check for Diabetes
Diabetes is a serious illness that needs to be regulated by your doctor. If you think that you might have diabetes, you will want to check to see if your symptoms match the disease. Knowing the symptoms can either put you at ease that you do not have diabetes, or it can guide you to seek medical attention as soon as possible.Instructions

1
Use the diabetes symptom checker (see Resources for a link). Just click on whether you are a man, woman or child and then click on the symptoms. This tool will tell you whether the symptoms are related to diabetes and whether you need to see a doctor.

2
Check to see if you are urinating frequently. In other words, are you urinating more than you normally do? If so, this is a symptom of diabetes.
-
3
Think about how much you are drinking in a day and whether all of that liquid is quenching your thirst. Diabetes sufferers are often thirsty no matter how much they drink.
-
4
Notice whether your eyes are getting blurry more often. Blurred vision is quite common in diabetes.
-
5
Pay attention as to whether any cuts you receive are healing properly. Diabetes sufferers' cuts take a lot longer to heal. You should seek medical attention if you can't get your cuts to heal in a timely manner.

6
Use the diabetes risk calculator (see Resources for a link). This calculator can tell you whether you are at a risk of developing diabetes or whether you are currently susceptible to pre-diabetes. The test is given by the American Diabetes Association.

Seek a doctor's advice and get a blood test. Most likely your doctor will order a blood test that can confirm or deny that you have diabetes. Based on the results your doctor can recommend the proper treatment and advise you on the proper diet.
