Instructions

  1. Make Sure the OneTouch Oltra is Ready for Testing

    • 1

Insert a test strip into the slot at the top of the OneTouch Ultra. The machine will automatically turn on and display a code. Note: This code should match the code printed on the test strip container. If the code doesn't match, please see Section 2.

    • 2

Remove and re-insert test strip; wait until you see the blood-drop sign flashing.

    • 3

Poke the side of a finger and knead finger until you have a drop of blood.

    • 4

Slide finger over the end of test strip so that blood will flow into the test strip opening. You will see the machine start counting down when you have enough blood on test strip.

    • 5

Wait for your reading. A normal blood sugar is 80 to 150.

    • 6

Record your results; many people keep track using a small notebook.

    • 7

Take the test strip out of your OneTouch Ultra, and dispose of it properly in your sharps container.

Setting the Code to Match the Code on the Test Strip Bottle

    • 8

Insert test strip and immediately push on the "C" located at the bottom of the OneTouch Ultra machine. This will make the code start flashing.

    • 9

Push the "C" button repeatedly until you have reached the matching number on your test strip container.

    • 10

Push the "M" button located beside the "C" button. This will lock in the code, however, you will need to always verify that this code matches before each testing.
