Specifications of an Accucheck Performer

Accu-Chek is a division of the Roche Pharmaceuticals and offers blood glucose meters for people with diabetes. The Performa is a glucose meter that determines if a diabetic needs insulin to regulate blood sugar levels. The Performa offers several features such as test reminders, a fast test time and a fast fill strip, just to name a few.

  1. Power and Battery

    • The Accu-Chek Performa power supply comes from a 3-volt lithium battery. The meter automatically powers on when a user inserts the test strip; the meter powers off within five seconds after the strip is removed. The meter shuts off within two minutes, if the meter is not used. The battery is good for approximately 2,000 readings.

    Memory Capacity

    • The glucose meter has a memory capacity that can hold up to 500 results with the date and time. The memory capacity is designed to improve blood glucose tracking. An infrared downloading capability allows a user to download the test results from the meter to a computer when using the data management products offered by Accu-Chek.

    Display, Dimensions and Operating Conditions

    • The Accu-Chek Performa meter has an LCD display and has a weight capacity of approximately 2.2 oz., including the battery. The meter is 3.7 inches long, 2.1 inches wide and .9 inches deep. The meter operates at temperatures from 6 to 44 degrees Celsius and relative air humidity of 10 to 90 percent. Meter storage conditions range from 25 to 70 degrees Celsius without the battery and 10 to 50 degrees Celsius with the battery.

    Other Features

    • The meter offers additional features such as four customizable test reminders that a user may set to signal at different times throughout the day. The meter notifies the user when the expiration date of the test strips is near. The Performa features an ergonomic design with rubber grips.

    Accessories

    • The Accu-Chek Performa comes with test strips, batteries, a quick reference guide and carry-case, Softclix or Multiclix lancing devices, an owner's booklet, and control solutions. Data management software with a diabetes management system and smart pix device reader is also included with the Performa meter.
