1
Consume four tsp. of sugar. While some foods that are high in fat help raise your blood glucose levels, pure sugar is quickly metabolized into your bloodstream and takes effect, according to the American Diabetes Association.
-
2
Eat 15 grams of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are considered fuel for your body, as they are converted to sugar and increase blood glucose levels. Two tbsp. of raisins or four to five saltine crackers provide the necessary amount of carbohydrates for increasing glucose.
-
3
Add one tbsp of honey to your beverages. Honey and corn syrup raise your glucose levels quickly, as it does not contain carbohydrates or fat.
-
4
Take medication. Glucagon, used to maintain your glucose levels, can be taken as directed to raise low levels.
