How to Program the OneTouch Meter

LifeScan manufactures glucose testing devices like the popular OneTouch meter. The OneTouch is designed to be easy to use. The models include; UltraMini, UltraLink, and the Ultra2. Each model of meter has different features, suitable to patients of varying needs. All models can be programmed for initial use with the same basic instructions.

  1. Basic Functions

      Power the meter and go to the main menu. Select "Set Up," on the next screen choose "Meter Settings." Arrow up to highlight the language of your choice. Press "OK" to select the language. Select the date format by highlighting preferred format and pressing "OK."

      Set the date for the meter by changing the number in each column. Press "OK" when completed.

      Select the format and set time by selecting "Meter Settings" and following the steps. Confirm settings by pressing "OK."

    Coding

    • 4

      Read the code on the test strip container. Place the test strip into the meter while it is shut off. Push the test strip into the meter as far as it will go, using care not to bend or twist it. The meter turns on automatically to display your code.

      Verify the code matches the test strip container. If it does not, press the arrow key up or down to match. Code will flash and then proceed to next screen displaying "APPLY BLOOD." If the code matches, press "OK" to proceed.

      Proceed with regular use of the OneTouch meter to test your blood.
