Diabetes is characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends the following blood sugar level targets for people with diabetes:

- Normal: Below 5.7%
- Prediabetes: 5.7% to 6.4%
- Diabetes: 6.5% or above
Fasting Plasma Glucose Test
- Normal: Below 100 mg/dL
- Prediabetes: 100 to 125 mg/dL
- Diabetes: 126 mg/dL or above
Random Plasma Glucose Test
- Below 200 mg/dL
Two-Hour Postprandial Glucose Test (After a Meal)
- Normal: Below 140 mg/dL
- Prediabetes: 140 to 199 mg/dL

It's important to note that these targets may vary depending on individual circumstances and should be discussed with your healthcare provider. Regular blood glucose monitoring is crucial for individuals with diabetes to ensure proper management and control of their blood sugar levels.
