The condition when the body fails to respond insulin?

Insulin resistance is the condition when the body fails to respond normally to insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps glucose, or sugar, get from the blood into the cells for energy. When the body is insulin resistant, the cells don't take in as much glucose as they should, which leads to high blood sugar levels.
