Accu-Chek Active Instructions

Accu-Chek Active is a blood glucose monitor used in the control of diabetes. It requires only one microliter of blood to test accurately, features a design that fits your hand comfortably, has only two buttons and is approved on most health insurance plans. It is one of the most affordable testing meters on the market.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the cap from the lancet device and put in a lancet, pushing until it clicks. Remove the protective cover from the lancet with a clockwise twist.

    • 2

Line up the notches on the cap and lancet device and replace the cap.

    • 3

Set the lancet depth by twisting the cap. The depth is determined by the thickness of your skin at the test site; the thicker the skin, the higher the depth number should be.

    • 4

Push in the plunger until the release button shows yellow, and set aside the pen.

    • 5

      Wash and dry hands thoroughly.

    • 6

Remove a test strip from its container and look at the round window on the back. The window should display yellow and match the color of the "0 mg/dl" on the container. If it does not, discard it.

    • 7

Face the orange pad up and load the test strip into the meter. Do not bend the strip, and check that the code displayed on the meter matches that on the test strip container.

    • 8

Use the lancet to prick the side of your finger when you see the flashing blood drop on the meter display.

    • 9

Squeeze your finger gently until there is a drop of blood.

    • 10

Place the blood drop in the center of the square orange pad on the test strip without bending the strip. Your test results appear following the hourglass on the meter display.
