Speak with your doctor about your type 2 diabetes and see if Glucophage could benefit you. Be sure to tell your doctor any other medications, supplements, vitamins and herbal products you are taking. It is also important to let your doctor know about any other medical conditions you have such as liver, kidney or heart disease.

Take Glucophage with a meal and at the same time(s) each day. Take it exactly as the prescription describes on the bottle. Do not take more or less than what is prescribed. Glucophage is tailored for each individual and dosage depends on your diabetic needs.

Maintain a healthful diet, reduce daily stress levels, exercise, and get enough sleep. Glucophage is one component in a comprehensive treatment plan to control your diabetes and preserve your health.

If you are taking Glucophage XR don't crush, break or chew the tablet. In order for the extended release component to function properly, you must swallow the tablet whole.

5
Check your blood sugar levels before and after you eat and at bedtime each day. Keep a record so you and your doctor can monitor your blood sugar levels more effectively and change your dosage of Glucophage if needed.
-
6
Visit the doctor every three months to have your hemoglobin A1c checked. The hemoglobin A1c test determines the effectiveness of blood sugar control over an extended period. Your doctor can use this information to optimize your Glucophage dosage.
