Instructions for Using an Accu-Chek Glucometer
Accu-Chek glucometers are a portable, accurate and relatively painless way to monitor your glucose levels. The meters are designed to be easy to use even for patients new to blood-testing. Wash your hands using warm water to help stimulate blood flow.

Turn on your Accu-Chek monitor and wait for the testing strip to dispense automatically.

Push your finger gently into the lancing device to create a small puncture wound.

Squeeze and press your finger onto the testing strip. Continue pressing until the sliding hourglass on the display screen flashes, indicating you have provided enough blood for the test. Alternate fingers so you're not testing repeatedly in the same spot.

Record your glucose levels shown on the display screen. Some Accu-Chek models store the information and allow you to download it to your computer.

Discard the testing strip and used lancet in the trash.
