Press and hold the down arrow button for at least five seconds to turn on the meter and run the meter start-up test.

Press and release the up or down arrows to select the proper hour setting. Wait five seconds for the minute setting to flash. Press and release the up or down arrows to select the correct minute setting.

Wait five seconds after setting the minutes for the year to flash. Use the same process to set the proper year, month and day. Wait five seconds from completing the date for the settings to save and configure the meter.

Insert a test strip into the meter with the metallic strip facing the meter and the collection end facing up. Check the code displayed on the meter, then compare it with the code on the test strip vial. Press the arrow keys to adjust the code so it matches the vial if it displays differently.

Remove the strip from the meter and dispose of it properly after applying the blood sample and receiving the reading. Verify the meter coding every time you use the meter for proper setup.
